3 Healthy Desserts That Don’t Suck
My go-to for desserts that feel good emotionally and nutritionally are fruit+ a thing. Check out the chocolate-covered bananas in the electrolytes entry from a few months ago as a great example.
Why Fruit?
Fruit is full of sugar! Well… yeah. It is. It is also full of fiber. Fiber is an integral part of your dietary needs. It helps keep your intestines moving and keeps your body from absorbing too much. It also helps you poop! Which is a healthy thing do to.
Plus, you need some sugar in your life to give you energy.
Here’s some quick fruit fixes to get you sweet tooth satisfied and in line with eating whole, nutritious food.
Fruit with Real Whipped Cream
Cherries, strawberries, bananas!
These foods go great with whipped cream. Obviously don’t go crazy with the cream.
Try putting out 2 Tablespoons of cream at a time to get used to what one serving size looks like, then go from there. This will help train your brain and tummy’s expectations of how much whipped cream you can have.

Chocolate Covered Anything
Dark chocolate is your friend. Some people prefer chocolate crumbles, other prefer melty goodness. I’m a melty goodness person myself because it means less chopping of the fruit.
The microwave is your friend — zap the chocolate for 30 seconds, then another if needed, then drip onto your fruit of choice. Yesssss.

Fruit by Itself
Whaaaaaaaaa
Seriously though. You may be convinced that fruit is never a dessert, you need refined sugar! Well maybe don’t move to fruit by itself right away, try the other two ways first.
Eventually, your body will get used to having less refined sugar (popsicles, ice cream, cakey stuff) and getting some fruity fantasticalness and just having fruit itself will work!
Try out these different ways of enjoying sugary treats that help your body rather than hinder it and enjoy the flavors!
